The bump cap is now attached to the top of the pack instead of the back to present a lower profile while in the prone. This short showed me how bad it was. It’s not about making “cool guy” videos, but checking / rechecking your kit.

Junk on Bunk is with USMC Assault Pack, I am sticking with the TT Lite Operator in video as it rides on the shelf better but can’t fit the bump cap inside unfortunately

1. 3ltr HydroPak to yoke, retained one hard carrier, SS Pathfinder Nested Cup setup.

2. Switched to Baofeng AR-152 as primary patrol radio.

3. Burst transmission setup to commander’s pouch.

4. Upgraded socks to wool Darn Toughs.

5. Added dump pouch.

This is my primary 24 hour or less RECON rig.

A Patrol Pack with NODs, Bump Cap, Sleep System,portable cross band repeater, etc. etc. is added if I expect to be gone overnight.

This rig allows for a substantial increase in load-out while keeping the weight on the hips and at my center of gravity than a chest harness, making longer patrols much more comfortable with improved coordination at night under NODs.

The LBE setup is a good mix of line 2/3 items for sustainment on it’s own and while it comes in at around 35lbs, it carries well and feels lighter than it is.

Adding the pack allows a lot more room for bulky items and a 3 season sleep system easily fits inside the Mystery Ranch 2-Day Assault Pack if I move the bump cap to the outside.

For short patrols, I have 2 quarts of water in the Hydrapak and another in a Pathfinder nested SS quart and cup set. Primary water purification is a Sayer Mini with Agua tabs and boiling as backups.
