This year I decided to participate by leaving my station unattended and seeing what info I could capture. I did switch my local persistent net freqs at the approximate time as listed in the SOI.

Below I have cleaned up the saved messages and removed callsigns, there was a lot of QRM and RxID is not always your friend when you are not there to watch, but it works better than nothing.
PROS
I did get a few wrapped messages without being at the computer.
FLAMP attempted to open on my computer but was blocked by a firewall since I had never used it.
The wrapped info in MSK-32 came through with good info.

A second AMTRAK derailment, with injuries (First incident reported in Alabama), reported over local ham repeater, occurring "east of the river and north of I-40. Coordinates given: 34.718620, -114.480645
Station also reports total loss of commercial power, internet, satellite connectivity, and cell service at home QTH, county wide
York County, Nebraska:
Air-band scanner traffic indicating persistent navigational anomalies and disruptions and difficulty getting clearance to land, related to ADS-B data. Pilots and Air Traffic Control unable to see other aircraft.
Airports affected: Omaha and Lincoln, NE; Minneapolis, MN. ATC halted all outbound flights. Radio-only capabilities, and no internet. Lincoln power outages, running on backup power.
Local ARES volunteers helping to find shelter for stranded travelers.
Oklahoma City, OK: 0100Z
reports over radio indicate two-plane collision on the ground. No injuries reported. Air Traffic Controls systems "extremely erratic" and "failing."
Air Force and civilian ATC ordered all flights grounded until further notice. Tinker AFB allowing civilian planes to land at the base. All other aircraft diverted to other airports, or landed safely.
