Curious - what threat do you anticipate where a N95 is sufficient, but a Tyvek suit would be necessary? Trying to figure out if I am missing something.
Radioactive dust from a nuke. First step at work would be to shelter in a safe place, we have several. Once the Nuke Alert said it was ok to leave (day or two) I would wear them on the trek home, if possible, to reduce exposure to dust.
If caught in travel it would go on immediately if the Nuke Alert was going off as shelter is hard to find, were you are away from dust.
Not optimal but better than nothing. Light enough to not have it IMO. In hot weather the suit would be more of a hazard than help obviously, but the mask would still be used.
