Great write-up. I have been trying to decide on pulling the trigger between the Surface Go 2 or the Surface Pro 4 for portable JS8... This Maestro would be a cheaper option. Would digital radio control performance be the same on the Maestro as the Microsoft machines?
Not sure, I will be testing the tr(uSDX) and the available software audio driver with my Go2 and the Maestro, but the DigiRig eliminates the issue and will likely prove better for sound quality as well as reliability. I've had the Go2 for several years now and it's more than enough for a HAM Shack laptop. I have the Maestro up running VaraAC and JS8Call 24/7 as of last night, I think a lot of the hate for it is because people are using them for a regular computer instead of a dedicated HAM Shack computer, and with debloating and keeping it offline I think it will work just fine.
I can't wait to see how this turns out!!

Amped to see how this goes. Another fantastic tool to add to the skill set
I'll try not to let everyone down, be sure to prod if I don't cover something well.
